Tales Of An Abused Child Part 2

Tara grew up under her father and step mother in Nigeria.

She went through a traumatic childhood as she went through several abuse.

Her stepmother filled her childhood with bad memories. She maltreated Tara.

She constantly abused Tara physically, emotionally and psychologically.

The step mum looked for any opportunity to make everyone feel Tara is a bad child. She will always tell Tara’s father evil things about her so he will dislike her.

One day the step mum cut Tara’s hand with a plate she broke while washing. The step said it is her punishment for breaking the plate.

One of the evil neighbours noticed how Tara’s step mum was always abusing her, so he took advantage of the situation and started abusing Tara sexually as a pre-teen.

He told her that he loves and will protect her and took full advantage to abuse her since the parents have failed in their duties to be principal protectors and guardians.

Tara suffered a lot in silence and could not approach anyone, not even her step mum who didn’t care.

This made Tara to suffer poor academic performance and she started bed wetting because of multiple abuse and fear.

Tara’s bed wetting grew worse as she was bed wetting through her teen years.

Her step mum didn’t waste time in disgracing Tara to the public.

In fact on one occasion she stripped Tara naked and threw her out of the house with whip.

She was flogging naked Tara with whip and mocking her about her bed wetting until some neighbours ran to stop her and cover Tara’s nakedness.

Tara’s life was a mess until she met Jesus. Tara gave her life to Jesus after hearing a message on how Jesus was stripped naked and beaten to death on the cross for her to be free and healed according to Isaiah 53:5

She cried and handed all her pains to Jesus to transform her life and give her rest and beauty according to Matthew 11:28 and Isaiah 60:1-3

Tara’s encounter with Jesus changed her life and gave her hope and love.

She was not constantly abused anymore as she forgave her step mum and started interceding for her in prayers.

One day the step mum broke down in tears asking for Tara’s forgiveness.

Tara also opened up about the sexual abuse she suffered from the neighbour and he was prosecuted because he was also guilty of sexually abusing another child.

It wasn’t an easy childhood for Tara but she overcame and ended well because of Jesus.

Tara’s mentality changed and she had passion to study medicine so she can provide medical support to sexual and psychologically abused children.

This became a reality as she got admission to study nursing in one of the prestigious Universities in Nigeria.

I must say this at this point, every abused child/teen must learn from Tara by submitting and casting all their pains and broken hearts to Jesus for healing.

Drifting into social vices won’t solve your problem or take away the bad memories of the abuse, it will only complicate it and destroy your life.

Only Jesus can solve your problem and heal you.

Also, Dear step parent/guardian stop seeing your step children as your rivals and stop maltreating them.

See them as seeds that God has placed in your hands to nurture. You are responsible for nurturing and protecting them that is why God placed them under you.

Treat them with love and patience. Don’t abuse them.

It might not be easy but pray for the love of God to fill your heart so you can carry out the good assignment God has sent you to do in their lives.
