Effect of abuse from home

Childhood should be a happy time in a person’s life, but dealing with emotional abuse caused by parents, foster parents, Family members, guardians, etc can affect the growing up of a child/teenager.

Emotional abuse could cause a child/teenager to display dysfunctional attitudes.
Children have different ways they react to abuse, some go into depression, some become scared, others end up with low self esteem , some are easily angered or combat with rage/aggression, so many become rebellious, violent, drift away from home, some begin to have nightmares and bed wet, others become withdrawn and perform poorly in their academics.

Dear Parent/Guardian if you notice these attitudes then that child/teenager needs help before it becomes too late. This is not a time to add to the child’s problem by shouting, or discouraging the child by your words and actions.

You must also not compare the child at this time. Unnecessary flogging will also compound the situation of the child/teenager.

The way you handle the child/teenager at this time will go a long way in correcting or compounding the issue.
